NINGBO — On the morning of August 26th, the Sinopec Ningbo Zhenhai Refining & Chemicals Hydrogen Demonstration Station completed its 13,213th hydrogen vehicle refueling session. Since entering operation in 2021, the station's cumulative hydrogen refueling volume has officially crossed the 300,000-kilogram mark.

Following its Phase II expansion in 2023 and adaptive upgrades in 2025, the station's 12-hour refueling capacity scaled up from 500 kg to 2,500 kg. It also possesses a daily filling capacity of 4,000 kg, supplying hydrogen across Ningbo and Hangzhou Bay.
The Zhenhai station has established a multi-scenario hydrogen application ecosystem spanning commuting, port logistics, municipal transit, and cold-chain logistics. Its demonstration fleet includes 32 hydrogen commuter buses, over 80 heavy-duty port logistics trucks, 5 municipal buses, and nearly 100 hydrogen-powered cold-chain trucks.
The hydrogen supplied at the station is sourced from Zhenhai Refining & Chemicals' industrial byproduct streams, purified to a ultra-high purity of over 99.99%. Based on operational estimates, the 300,000 kg of hydrogen delivered—calculated at a carbon reduction rate of 8.6 kg CO2 per kg of hydrogen consumed by heavy-duty trucks—has offset cumulative CO2 emissions by approximately 2.6 million kg.
